Upper Face Anti-Wrinkle

Anti-wrinkle injections, also known as botox are one of the most common aesthetic treatments performed worldwide. When performed in the upper face region, the aim is to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles on the forehead by relaxing the muscles that lie beneath. The reason lines and wrinkles form on the forehead and around the eyes is due to making daily facial expressions such as frowning, being surprised, laughing. Some people naturally create much stronger expression than others on a day-to-day basis, and therefore tend to form lines more easily as the skin folds due to the underlying muscles contracting.

Many people believe lines and wrinkles on the forehead are due to ageing, however, you can begin to form lines as early as your twenties if you are someone who makes a lot of expression. If you want to prevent lines from forming on the forehead, a good time to start is when you first start to notice very fine lines forming. Many young people use anti-wrinkle injections as a preventative measure. However, if lines have already formed (static lines), using anti-wrinkle injections on the forehead can also reverse these lines, providing that you go for regular treatments (typically every 3-4 months).

How Does It Work?

Botulinum toxin works by relaxing certain muscles on the forehead and around the eyes which contribute to the formation of lines. By slightly reducing the movement of these muscles, this prevents any existing lines/wrinkles from progressing and also helps to reverse and soften lines that have already formed. This results in a flawless and wrinkle free appearance to the skin. The treatment is very quick and easy, and virtually painless.

These are the vertical lines that form between the eyebrows when we frown. Some people call them 11s lines. These lines can be associated with looking angry and aged. Relaxing this area can relieve the angry look.

Crows feet lines are the small lines that form on either sides of the eyes. They tend to form when we smile strongly. Over time, the lines can stay on the skin even at rest due to repeated movement over years and years. Relaxing the area prevents lines from forming around the eyes when we smile and laugh. Some people prefer not to treat these are they feel that the lines give them character. Other people prefer to treat the area.

These are the horizontal lines that form across the forehead, which form when you raise your eyebrows. They tend to become more prominent as we age and can make the face appear more aged. Treating the area can give the forehead a smoother appearance.
