NASOLABIAL & MARIONETTE LINES

Eliminate facial shadowing.

Nasolabial lines are the lines that form from the edge of the nose to the corner of the mouth on either side of the face. They are sometimes referred to as smile lines. They can get deeper with age and, due to shadowing in these areas, can make a face appear tired.

Marionette lines are the lines that form from the corner of the mouth down towards the sides of the chin. They can also get deeper with age and cause the mouth to appear downturned, resulting in a sad appearance.

The Treatment Procedure

  1. Cleansing: Dr Arun thoroughly cleanses the treatment area to remove any makeup, oils, or impurities.

  2. Topical Anaesthetic Application: A numbing cream is applied to minimise discomfort during the procedure. This typically requires 5 minutes to take effect.

  3. Treatment Mapping: Dr Arun then marks the areas to be injected, carefully planning placement for optimal results.

  4. Filler Injection: Using a fine needle or cannula, the dermal filler (hyaluronic acid-based) is precisely injected into predetermined areas of the lips.

  5. Massage and Molding: Dr Arun gently massages the product to ensure even distribution and proper contouring.

  6. Final Assessment: Both Dr Arun and the patient evaluate the immediate results, with potential touch-ups applied as needed.

  7. Post-Treatment Care Instructions: Dr Arun provides detailed aftercare guidelines to optimise healing and results.

This treatment can be combined with many of our other services including cheek filler, jawline filler, tear trough filler, and more. Combining these treatments can dramatically improve your overall facial appearance, creating a more youthful, lifted look.

  • Aftercare Notes:

Needle entry points, redness, bruising, swelling and asymmetry around injection sites immediately after treatment is normal due to the very nature of the treatment.

    Immediate Effects (Day 1)

The effects of nasolabial & marionette filler are visible immediately after injection. However, initial swelling and potential bruising may be present.

    Short-Term Results (Days 2-7)

During the first week, any swelling or bruising will begin to subside. By day 7, you'll have a clearer picture of your results, though the filler may still be settling.

    Final Results (Days 7-14)

The full, settled results typically appear within 1-2 weeks after treatment. At this point, the filler has fully integrated with your tissue, and any residual swelling has typically resolved.

  • Yes, they are attractive and normal. Everyone has nasolabial lines, including children. Therefore, we must ensure not to reduce this fold completely to look natural. During the consultation, we will analyse the face in detail and advise you on how to treat this area of the face to help you look refreshed and rejuvenated while maintaining a natural look.

  • Losing weight, unfortunately, causes us to lose fat in the mid-face. As a result, this can cause the face to drop down and make nasolabial lines more prominent.

  • Nasolabial lines are the lines that go from the corner of the nose to the corner of the mouth. Marionette lines are the lines that go from the corners of the mouth down to the sides of the chin.

  • These lines form for a couple of reasons. As we age, we lose fat in the mid-face, which causes the skin to droop downwards and subsequently, nasolabial and marionette lines form. The other reason is the normal movement of our facial muscles over time (smiling mainly).

  • Nasolabial lines and marionette lines can not be treated with Botox. However, they can be prevented from worsening to an extent with botox.
