Filler Dissolving
Filler, be gone.
At Karwal Aesthetics, we use hyaluronic acid dermal fillers only. One of the key benefits of using hyaluronic acid fillers is that they are completely reversible.
Therefore, in the rare case that fillers need to be dissolved for medical or cosmetic reasons, it is very simple and straightforward to do so.
Dissolving filler is a simple process that only takes a few minutes. The target area is first anaesthetised with a local anaesthetic cream to make the procedure comfortable. A patch test is then performed- usually on the arm. A patch test is where we test a small amount of hyaluronidase (the substance used to dissolve filler) on a small skin area to detect any allergic reaction.
Providing that there is no reaction to the hyaluronidase, we will then proceed with injecting small amounts of the hyaluronidase into the target area.
Once injected, the substance works very quickly, and all the filler should be dissolved within the first couple of days which is then absorbed by the body.

Yes, hyalase works very quickly and will start to dissolve the filler within minutes. Within 1-2 days, once swelling has also subsided, you will notice that the area will be back to its original appearance.
-
If you would like the area re-filled, we suggest allowing a minimum of 3 weeks before re-introducing any new filler into the area. This is so that any new hyaluronic acid is not broken down and to allow time for swelling to settle.

The hyaluronic acid is dissolved and absorbed by the body.

Not all fillers dissolve. At Karwal Aesthetics, we only use Hyaluronic acid fillers, which are completely dissolvable. If you have treatment elsewhere, we recommend that you check that your practitioner only uses hyaluronic acid fillers and no other types.
